Joint Base Lewis-McChord has one of the largest Religious Support Organizations (RSOs) in the U.S. Army with almost 95 Unit Ministry Teams (UMTs) stationed at the installation.

Worship Services

The Chaplain's Office at JBLM performs and provides a variety of religious services for soldiers and airmen, their families and veterans at including Liturgical, traditional, Gospel and contemporary. Joint Base Lewis-McChord also provides Roman Catholic religious programs, as well as Jewish, Islam, Buddhist and Wiccan services. For a complete list of worship service times, click here.

Chapels

The JBLM chaplain staff oversees and operates nine chapels, including three on Lewis Main, three on McChord Fiels, one on Lewis North and a chapel at the Yakima Training Center. For a complete list of JBLM chapels and directions to each location, please visit the chapels page.

Bible Study, Youth Groups, Religious Education and Auxiliaries

The chaplain's office provides auxiliary programs for Protestant women (Protestant Women of the Chapel), Catholic women (Catholic Women of the Chapel), men (Men of Faith in Action), youth (Club Beyond) and children (AWANA). Many of the worship services have Bible studies and Sunday school classes, as well as mid-week events, prayer breakfasts and luncheons. The chaplain's office also offers mid-week and weekend religious education courses including Sunday school, introductory to scripture and baptismal classes.

Pastoral Counseling


The pastoral counseling team at the Chaplain Family Life Center provides a variety of free services to help develop and strengthen your most important relationships in life. Counseling is free with no referral needed and open to active duty military of all branches, retirees, family members, and DOD civilians. includes the following topics:

Marriage Preparation Workshop

This workshop is open to engaged and newly weds and helps couples address the key areas that are the most important for marital success. Child care is not provided and children are not allowed at the class. Normally held the first Friday of each month, please call (253) 967-1723 to register.
